GPS Tracking Software

GPS 3D mapping software comes in a variety of ways. It comes on a digital card or data card that you can insert into your handheld GPS device, it comes in software format that you load onto your PC and it comes on a memory card that you would load onto your GPS device.

GPS mapping software gives more detailed pictures of specific areas and locations. If you want a detailed map of a certain city or region, you can add that functionality through mapping software, or "plug and play street maps".

A benefit to having the software on a digital card is that you can only load the areas that you use on a regular basis. If you are driving around in Denver, why would you need a detailed map of Omaha if you never go there? If there is an area you want to look up, you will more likely do that online over the Internet on your computer rather than on your GPS device. If you happen to be traveling to another location, you can load that new location into your GPS device from your PC, or a data card and remove the data after you return, when you no longer need it.
